ELA
Students will summarize a text, identify one or more themes in the text and how these themes are developed over the course of the text
Writing: Students will organize information, develop a writing sample with relevant facts, definitions and concrete details.
*Students will work on reading and writing curriculum while continuing to work on their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
Math
Students will show an understanding of number systems, expressions, equations and inequalities and geometry.
*Students will work on math curriculum while continuing to work on their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
Science
Amplify
Students learn Living Environment Science through topics such as:
- Geology on Mars
- Earth, Moon, and Sun
- Force and Motion
- Force and Motion Engineering Internship
- Magnetic Fields
- Light Waves
- Traits and Reproduction
- Natural Selection
- Evolutionary History
Social Studies
Students study the second portion of U.S. history from the mid 1800’s to present day. The curriculum may include the following topics:
- Westward Expansion (Review)
- Industrialization
- Immigration and Urbanization
- American Imperialism (of Latin America)
- World War I
- Roaring 20’s
- Great Depression
- World War II
- Cold War
- Modern America
